A recording of Malaysia's national anthem Negaraku (My Country). The original song was recorded and playback in the same space again and again until it became unrecognizable, a series of dissonant harmonics, in a process similar to Alvin Lucier's seminal work I Am Sitting In A Room (1969).

Dissolution annotates to the inherent contradictions of Malaysian identitarian politics, between official discourses promoting an open multicultural society, governmental policies favouring a Muslim-Malay society, and the obvious separation and segregation of said society by race, religion and class.

Dissolution was presented as an unadvertised sound intervention at the heart of the entertainment district of Kuala Lumpur using the outdoor PA system of a hotel.
